Getting away for a short trip is always so refreshing. New scenery, new experiences, and nothing to think about except the here-and-now. The hubby and I escaped to Key West for a few days for a much-needed getaway and belated anniversary celebration. We stayed at the beautiful Casa Marina Resort, which I recommend to everyone. Our days consisted of lounging by their gorgeous pool, Dark ‘n’ Stormy in hand, or relaxing in a hammock by the beach. We also had some standout meals and made a touristy stop here and there.
Like Miami, Key West doesn’t cooperate with the seasons, so it’s still blazing hot in mid-October. Flowy dresses and shorts are the way to go. You’ll also be doing a lot of walking so comfort is key: flat sandals were my shoe of choice. Last but not least, don’t forget a great pair of sunglasses and a hat to keep the sun off your face whether you’re lounging or brunching.
Check back next week for what to do in Key West!
