I’m a big fan of flats. The best are stylish, but comfortable. Perfect for running errands, and they can take you from your work day to a date night without needing to carry an extra pair of shoes in your bag. Take a look as some of my current favorites!…
I’m absolutely guilty of judging books (and almost everything else) by their covers. As a graphic designer, packaging is one of my favorite things. Gift wrap is a guilty pleasure. A well-wrapped gift is like two presents in one and I think even the most simple item is elevated by a good wrap job.
Here’s a quick tutorial I put together when I wrapped a birthday present this weekend…
What You’ll Need
wrapping paper | ribbon in two widths and colors | a cute tag
scissors | double sided tape (the secret to a clean look!)
Spontaneity is a great quality to have when planning a night out, or a weekend trip. M and I got a case of it, but it was re: furniture. We bought our sofa (the Cameron*, from Crate & Barrel) before we’d even signed the lease on the Gables Apartment. Luckily, I’d been stalking it for a while an knew that it fit with our decorating aesthetic. Take a look below to see the inspiration!
*Unfortunately C&B discontinued the cloth upholstered Cameron. You can still find it in leather.
(Sleeper versions and apartment-size-sofa versions.)
Life. It’s always changing, right? Usually for the good, sometimes for the bad, but always changing. For example, recent life change: I married my amazing husband, Mike. Soon to come life change: we’re moving!
We’ve been in our Little Beach Apartment for the past two years. We moved in after we got engaged (literally, but that’s a story for another post) and we were there through all the wedding planning insanity. (M carried me over the Little Beach Apartment’s threshold.) We love this place so.
However, we’ve outgrown our Little Beach Apartment, so in just shy of two weeks we move to our Gables Apartment. Much bigger: a 2/2 clocking in at about 1300 sq. ft. Much closer to work and family, too.
I started this blog to chronicle the ins-and-outs of our lives and projects as we grow into our new place: decorating, cooking, hosting, and living with a substantial dose of practical panache.
