Recently, one of my very best friends gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl. I wanted to bring her a thoughtful, but useful gift to welcome the new family home, so I decided to put together a “new mom” basket. I found a few lists for what to include online, but none had the right mix and some items, while useful, were just no-gos. (I’m sorry, but I’m not giving anyone stool softeners and pads as a gift.) Take a look at what I included below!
I set out to think of what I could add to the basket that my friend would appreciate that weren’t the standards. I thought of what I’d appreciate when I came home with a new little one and came up with things like a cozy throw to snuggle with, some dry shampoo (Batiste is my go-to brand), and hand lotion to help with dry hands from over-washing. If you know your new-mommy friend will be breastfeeding, you can also add some lactation tea and a cute mug to cheer her on when it gets tough. We definitely can’t forget the star of the show, so you can also include a gift for the baby! This little set is so adorable. The onesie, a gift from Baby Fun’s aunt Kasia, will be his going home outfit!
